Background

The colour collection and associated stories were curated through a series of workshops which culminated in the creation of the Red, Amber, Grey & Green poem and illustrated map.

Image Description

Colour image shows pile of A5 rectangular folded paper entitled “Red Amber, Grey and Green” sitting on top of an opened-out map showing Glasgow streets with lines from the poetry superimposed on top.

Remembering Together (Scottish Government) commissioned artists in all 32 local authority areas in Scotland to co-create with communities and find ways of honouring the people we have lost and find the ways we want to remember them. The project was also about acknowledging all the ways Covid is still affecting us.

Remembering Together Glasgow appointed artist Audrey O’Brien to co-create with communities on ideas for memorials. Audrey worked in collaboration with Mhari Baxter and Kath Pierce.

Commissioned by greenspace scotland, Toonspeak and Govanhill Baths with funding from Scottish Government.
